RME 100 Series safety:
It has just been brought to my attention that there is a safety problem with the RME 100 Series power supplies.
The RME 100 series power supplies with the two mains fuse holders on the front panel have a safety problem with these fuse holders and should be replaced ASAP
The unit that we found, arcked between the metallic part of the fuse holder and the retaining nut giving the operator a shock and burn.
When we replaced the offending fuse holder and its mate, the mates insullation fell away due to old age.
There are a couple of options available from the Farnell catalogue, to replace the existing 4.6x16 fuse holders, (older size fuse)
with 5x20 fuse holders, (these fuses are easy to obtain) we opted for the fuse holder requiring the "D" shaped cutout,
as this will prevent turning of a fuse folder with a loose nut, leading to further problems, we have a suitable punch for these fuse holders.
